Chikubu Island (竹生島 chikubu-shima) is a large island in Lake Biwa near Nagahama City.

Many people visit the island by Ferry for the scenic lake view, or to visit Hogon-ji Temple and Tsukubusuma Shrine. There is also a small museum with some ancient artifacts from the area.

Getting there by boat is possible from both Nagahama port and Hikone port, but Nagahama is much closer.
