Sagawa Art Museum

Sagawa Art Museum (佐川美術館) features a beautiful modern minimal atmosphere as a tasteful contrast to their collection of more traditional works from notable Japanese artists. The museum opened in 1998, backed by the Sagawa express shipping company. They also have a classic Japanese tea house, with ceremonies available.

It’s located next to the Biwako-Ohashi bridge, which is about 5km from JR Yasu or Moriyama Stations. Katata Sta. is much closer, but it’s on the Kosei line (on the other side of the bridge), so either route may require bus or taxi (more info).

Adult admission is ¥1000, but there are discounts for students and seniors, and children are free (more info).
